Turkey is a nice and cheap country to visit on your holiday.
When most people hear of turkey they immediately think of islam, shopping of pirated goods, aswell as the turkish food. For us foodhappy people I can inform you that the food here in Turkey is really good aswell as there are different kind of food aswell.
Turkey as a country
Turkey is in the southwest of Asia aswell as in the souteast of Europe. In Europe the countries that Turkey has a border to is Bulgary aswell as Greece. It’s also by the Mediterranean, so you will have the same feeling concerning the sun and the water as you have all around the Mediterranean. But otherwise there are large differences between the countries surrounding Turkey.
The Capital in Turkey is not Istanbul as most people would think, but it’s the smaller city Ankara which is the capital. Istanbul was during along time the capital, but this changed in 1923 when Ankara became the capital in Turkey. This was completed by Kemel Ataturk.

There are approx 75 million inhabitats on a 780580 square kilometer large area.
There is a timedifference between Greenwich and Turkey, this timedifference is UTC+2.
The currency is LIRA, Turkish Lira (YTL).
So what does turkey have to offer you.
Turkey is as we said by the mediterranean, so the marine life is the same as all the mediterranean. So the diving experience will be the same as everywhere in the Mediterranean. The one difference you will be able to see is the wreck diving in Turkey.
For the people who has a craving for some nightlife, we can inform that most resturants aswell as bars close at 24.00. After that there are ofcourse nightclubs aswell as discoteks that you can visit.
On the more sporty side of Turkey you will find that this is not a country where you want to go if you for example want to play golf. GOlf hasn’t expanded in the same way that it has in for example Spain.
But we feel that you will get something good out of your vacation to Turkey. On all the occasions that we have been to Turkey we have found it to be a thrilling aswell as a nice vacation with alot of activities aswell as just laying out on the beach and relaxing.
